HITN is committed to providing technological solutions to advance the socioeconomic and educational aspirations of Hispanics. We have a 25-year history of creating award winning content through a cross-media platform (Television, Online, and Community Based Organizations) that educates Latinos in depth on important topics in a non-commercial environment.
The explosion of telecommunication services to the general public during the last decade has had a profound impact in the areas of teaching and learning. It is our intent to complement the United States’ broadband efforts with solutions that will help close the Hispanic achievement gap, improve English language skills, and give Latinos the tools they need to advance. Through our platform, citizens will have access to key educational content such as: kindergarten through 12th grade courses and post-secondary education support services, financial literacy, GED preparation, ESL, job readiness or “soft-skills” training, entrepreneurship and other programs to prepare more Latinos for career and college opportunities.
HITN is currently deploying, CBO Connect TM, a coalition of local grass root organizations, schools, and libraries through the use of broadband technologies to create virtual accelerated learning environments or ¡VALE! which stimulates collaboration and provides a platform for Community Based Organizations to offer successful program initiatives that address a variety of social, economic, educational, and health needs in the Latino community.
In 2010, HITN launched ¡VALE!, life-long learning programs that engage students in rich content through teachers as coaches to enable individual student learning. From kindergarten through to professional development and English language classes, HITN’s mission is to educate, empower, and enable Latino’s nationwide.

¡VALE! federally funded Supplemental Educational Services (SES) for kindergarten through 12th grade will be piloted in school year 2010 in 23 schools throughout Puerto Rico. HITN provides SES through blended instruction using digital learning technology and face-to-face teaching. All SES students are entered into the HITN Buzz Club where they track their progress and have fun while learning. All curriculum is aligned to national standards and is taught by certified teachers.
As part of the buzz club, students will have a computer and will be involved in fun learning activities and improve their reading, math, or Spanish skills in a fun after school club learning environment.
After a long day at school every student needs to be in an environment that makes learning fun and keeps them motivated to improve academic skills. Our #1 goal is student success!
BONUS: With HITN Buzz Clubs, the parents and family will have access to our many services and programs including: English as a Second Language, GED Preparation, College 411 and more!

This federally funded program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local educational standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other educational services to the families of participating children.
